Our journey began in Beaverton at the historic facility formerly known as Valley Ice Arena. Deeply rooted in the Portland-metro ice sports community since 1965, the rink is celebrated for its iconic wood-beam ceilings and its legacy as the official practice home of the Portland Winterhawks. Now operating as Winterhawks ICE Center – Beaverton, we are proud to carry forward the heritage of this landmark facility where generations of skaters first found their edge.

In 2024, we expanded our commitment to the local community by acquiring the Sherwood ice facility. When the arena faced the threat of permanent closure, the Winterhawks stepped in to save the business, ensuring that Sherwood’s skaters and families wouldn't lose their home on the ice. Reimagined as Winterhawks ICE Center – Sherwood, the rink has been revitalized into a premier destination for athletes and enthusiasts alike.

Today, across both our Beaverton and Sherwood locations, our mission is to provide a welcoming, top-tier environment for the entire skating community. From the historic atmosphere of our wooden beams to the renewed energy in Sherwood, we are honored to be the heartbeat of ice sports in the region.
