At Winterhawks ICE Center, we create a place where people of all ages can belong, grow, and thrive through hockey, skating, and ice sports. We are committed to building a strong, welcoming community that inspires confidence, teamwork, character, and a lifelong love of the ice.
OUR STORY
Winterhawks ICE Center has been a part of the Portland-metro ice sports community for decades, with operations rooted in the historic Beaverton facility formerly known as Valley Ice Arena. Established in 1965, the rink is recognized for its distinctive wood-beam architecture and longstanding role as the official practice facility of the Portland Winterhawks. Today, Winterhawks ICE Center – Beaverton continues to serve athletes, families, and community members across a wide range of skating and hockey programs.
In 2024, Winterhawks ICE Center expanded its operations through the acquisition of the Sherwood ice facility, preserving a valued community resource and ensuring continued access to local ice sports programming. Now operating as Winterhawks ICE Center – Sherwood, the facility supports recreational, developmental, and competitive opportunities for skaters and players throughout the region.
Across both Beaverton and Sherwood locations, Winterhawks ICE Center is committed to providing a welcoming and high-quality environment for hockey, figure skating, public skating, and community programming. Through accessible programming, athlete development, and community engagement, Winterhawks ICE Center continues to support the growth of ice sports throughout the Pacific Northwest.
