Daisuke Murakami is a former ISU Grand Prix Champion, ISU Grand Prix Finalist, and ISU Four Continents medalist who represented Japan on the international stage. Throughout his competitive career, he trained under renowned coaches Frank Carroll, Rafael Arutyunyan, and Tammy Gambill, competing at the highest levels of the sport before transitioning to full time coaching in the United States.

 

In addition to his competitive achievements, Daisuke toured in many of Japan's premier professional ice shows, including Stars on Ice Japan, Friends On Ice, Fantasy on Ice, Dreams on Ice, and Prince Ice World. He was also a Japan Open Team Champion, helping Team Japan capture the title at the Japan Open.

 

Daisuke coaches skaters from emerging athletes to nationally and internationally competitive performers. His experience includes assisting in the training and preparation of athletes who compete at the highest levels of the sport, including World and international competitions.

 

Daisuke is the coach of Michael Jin, a two-time U.S. Novice Men's silver medalist and Team USA international competitor; Jason Lin, Taiwanese Novice Men's Champion and international competitor representing Taiwan; and Hannah Harrell, a U.S. senior-level national competitor.

 

In 2026, Daisuke was recognized by U.S. Figure Skating as a recipient of the Coach I.C.E. "5 Under 35" Award, honoring emerging coaches who have demonstrated exceptional potential through innovation, early career achievements, and a positive impact on the development and character of their athletes.
