Did you know? January is National Skating Month. At Winterhawks ICE Centers, we invites you to celebrate with us all month long. Here are a few things you can look forward to in the month of January:
Free Introductory Skating Lessons
Join us on the ice for free introductory skating lessons during our Saturday and Sunday public sessions. These fun and short 15-minute lessons will be taught by our credentialed, professional coaching staff and will cover the basics of on-ice safety, balance, and beginning skating maneuvers. Enjoy the rest of your time on public session practicing what you learned and showing off your new skills!
Skating School Classes
Wanting to learn even more? Registration for our Winter II (January/February) skate school term is still open! Join us on the ice for eight classes to learn the basics of skating forward, backwards, turning, and stopping.
As an added perk, enjoy unlimited public sessions at both Winterhawks ICE locations when you register for any Skate School class. Wow! 👀

Special public sessions
We've extended our public session hours for MLK Day just for you! Spend your holiday the best way possible—on ice!
Have you been to a Friday night Cosmic Skate yet? Don't miss out on the fun! Join us in Beaverton every Friday night from 6:30-8:30pm for a party on ice like no other! Lights go out at 6:30 for two hours of fun, featuring live music from DJ Ken!
Don't miss our K-Pop Night (DJ Ken's specialty!) on Friday, January 31! 🤩🤩
Exhibitions and performances from local skaters
Skate school participants at both locations will be lucky enough to see special exhibition performances from local skaters of all ages and abilities.
Days and times will vary—make sure to make it to class each week so that you're sure not to miss out on the excitement!
Nationals Viewing Party
Watch the 2025 US Figure Skating Championships with us! This exciting event will be playing in our lobbies for the duration of the Championships, which will take place January 20-26.
Join us in wishing the best of luck to the following skaters who will be competing at this event: Samuel Mindra; Ryan Azadpour; Michael Xie; Nathan Gu. Your Winterhawks ICE Center community is proud of you!
