A Jr. Winterhawks Alum Soars to New Heights

Owen Vaillancourt, a seasoned veteran of the Jr. Winterhawks program, has taken his hockey journey to the next level. After nine years of honing his skills with the local organization (6U-14U), Vaillancourt has joined the Shawnigan Lake School's U15 Prep team in the Canadian Sport School Hockey League (CSSHL).
Located on Vancouver Island, BC, Canada, Shawnigan Lake School is renowned for its world-class academic program and its commitment to developing elite hockey players. The school has a strong track record of producing talent for the WHL, BCHL, and Division 1 college hockey.
Vaillancourt's father, Jason, a decade-long coach with the Jr. Winterhawks, attributes his son's success to the many dedicated coaches who have mentored him. "Since he was four, Owen has been immersed in hockey," Jason said. "His coaches and teammates have ignited his passion for the game and propelled him to this higher level."
Vaillancourt himself acknowledges the impact of his Jr. Winterhawks experience. "I cherished my time as a Jr. Winterhawk," he said. "The friendships I formed and the lessons I learned on and off the ice have shaped me into the player and person I am today. Finishing third at Nationals last year was a fantastic way to cap off my Jr. Winterhawks career."
As Vaillancourt embarks on this exciting new chapter, the Jr. Winterhawks community will be cheering him on.
